Description
A balanced and dynamically fruited dry processed coffee from hot to cool.
Fruit-forward natural from Ismael Hassen’s Buku Station in Guji. Bursting with ripe raspberry, blackberry, and tropical fruit sweetness balanced by jasmine aromatics and a juicy, syrupy finish.
Ethiopia Guji Buku is a natural (dry process) coffee that bursts with fruit-forward sweetness and perfumed aromatics. The cup opens with ripe notes of raspberry, blackberry, and mixed melon, rounded by tropical hints of papaya and star fruit. Aromas of jasmine add lift to the lush fruit character, while the natural processing brings depth and a velvety, juicy mouthfeel.
This coffee comes from smallholder producers in Buku Sayisa, within the highlands of Guji’s Hambela Wamena district, grown at elevations of 2100 to 2300 meters. The drying station is managed by Ismael Hassen of Kayon Mountain Coffee, known for exceptional attention to detail in quality control. Cherries are carefully hand-sorted and floated before being laid out to dry on raised bamboo beds for up to three weeks, ensuring consistent, even drying and clarity in the cup.
The result is a vivid, aromatic expression of southern Ethiopia; fruity, floral, and deeply sweet, capturing the essence of Guji’s high-grown naturals at their best.
