Description

Wide spectrum of fruit notes, baking spice, black tea, syrupy herbaceous body with a cocoa accent and sweet lingering finish.

Ethiopia Dry Process Suke Quto is a stunning coffee that exemplifies the complexity and richness of dry-process Ethiopian coffee. This lot boasts vibrant fruit flavors and intensely aromatic notes :  flavors of strawberry, ripe blueberry, dried stone fruits like peach and apricot, and tangy tamarind unfold, complemented by the fragrant spices of Chai tea, cinnamon, and hints of fresh rue herb.  As the cup cools, the flavor complexity deepens with refreshing berry notes, tropical punch, and pungent spice accents, balanced beautifully where bittersweet tones enhance rather than overpower the fruit.

Sourced from a processing site near the town of Suke in Ethiopia’s Guji Zone, this lot is produced by the Shonora family, a long-established coffee-growing family in the region. Operating eight processing sites in Guji, centered around their hometown of Gerba, the family has been perfecting wet and dry coffee processing for decades. Coffee is grown at elevations between 1800 and 2200 meters, with most farmers contributing from plots smaller than one hectare. This particular lot showcases the meticulous care taken at the Suke Quto site, with a raised-bed sun-drying process that enhances its signature berry-forward profile. Roasting this coffee requires attention to its natural characteristics, including higher chaff production and darker roast coloring, but the effort is rewarded with an intensely sweet and aromatic cup. This Grade 1, heirloom cultivar coffee is packaged in GrainPro liners for optimal freshness
