Sourced from the Asociación de Apicultores y Caficultores de Union Cantinil (AAPICUC) in the Buenos Aires region of Huehuetenango, this naturally process coffee offers notes of bakers chocolate, orange citrus, 
and dark berry sweetness, complemented by a creamy mouthfeel and heavy body. 

Great for espresso and autodrip - with or without cream.

 

From the Buenos Aires region of Huehuetenango. Grown by the Asociación de Apicultores y Caficultores de Union Cantinil (AAPICUC), this Bourbon variety thrives at altitudes of 1300-2000 meters above sea level in nutrient-rich, clay-like soil. The coffee is harvested from November to April and undergoes a meticulous natural process on raised beds.

The Buenos Aires region of Huehuetenango is renowned for its ideal coffee-growing conditions. Nestled in the western highlands of Guatemala, the region's high altitudes and unique microclimate contribute to the exceptional quality of the coffee. The clay-like soil in this area is rich in minerals, providing the perfect foundation for the Bourbon variety to flourish. The small-scale farms, averaging three hectares, allow for careful attention to detail in every step of the coffee production process.

The Bourbon variety is a classic and beloved coffee varietal known for its exceptional cup quality. Originating from the island of Bourbon (now Réunion), this variety has found a perfect home in the highlands of Guatemala. The Bourbon plants are known for their balanced and complex flavor profiles. In the Buenos Aires region, the Bourbon variety benefits from the high altitudes and favorable growing conditions, resulting in a coffee that is both vibrant and nuanced.

There is dark berry sweetness, balanced with a delightful orange snap, and a finish of baker's chocolate. This coffee is cultivated on small farms averaging three hectares, where sustainable practices are a priority.
