Hailing from the Chelbesa Danche, this lot distinctly represents the Yirga Cheffe profile, showcasing a clean and floral cup character with well-defined sweetness and acidity. In the dry fragrance, you'll encounter perfumed floral notes such as rose and hints of rue herb, with aspects of raw sugars in the sweetness. With our lighter roast, hints of tropical fruit notes like pineapple and passion fruit emerge, adding complexity to the profile. The wet aroma introduces a tropical papaya note, alongside scents of dried stone fruit, honey, and an elegant jasmine note.
Danche, located within Chelbesa town in Gedeb Woreda, serves as the origin of this coffee. Situated in one of the largest coffee-producing areas in Gedeb, with altitudes ranging from 1900 to 2200 meters above sea level, the region contributes to the unique flavor profile of Chelbesa Danche. The washing station, established in 2019 and operated by SNAP Specialty Coffee, employs ceramic fermentation tanks for improved heat retention during fermentation. While the site follows organic practices, this particular lot is not certified.
